Mission facts

–Gospel Chariot Missions was started in 1994 by George and Ria Funk. They have 4 children, Quinton, Wayne, Chantal and Hilton. George and Ria are native South Africans and were converted in 1984 and 1986, respectively.

–West Main has been supporting this work since 2000

–The work is overseen by the Northside Church of Christ in Benton, Arkansas

–Their ministry travels into 21 African countries. There have been over 17000 souls baptized and over 110 congregations planted.

–There are offices and schools in Durban and Pretoria that are run by South Africans.  The Funks get these schools and offices going and leave them with South Africans to continue the work.

–They have established bible bookstores in several cities.

–There are 3 Gospel Chariots (buses) that have a baptistery, a tent that pulls out, and chairs for tent meetings.  The Funks travel around in these large vehicles and set up gospel meetings and distribute WBS lessons.  There are 9 other smaller buses that conduct campaigns as well.
