Bro. Conley Gibbs, Jr. preaches for the Ferguson Church of Christ in Ferguson, MO.  Conley came to Horizons this summer to speak to over 1,000 campers – his topic:  “Don’t Hate”.  The audio is not perfect (I set me phone on the stage to record the lesson) and he begins at the one minute mark (we had problems with his mic).  The church in Ferguson plays in important role in the healing of a St. Louis suburb whose events recently made it’s presence known to all the world – for all the wrong reasons.  Conley’s love for the Lord and his love for his fellow man is such an encouragement to us all.  We’re so thankful FHU provided this opportunity for our youth – we focused the Sermon on the Mount and changing our lives from the Inside/Out!   Please enjoy!  And please be challenged!

Remember, please advance to the 01:00 (one minute) mark on the recording.

The Christian Chronicle also did published an article related to Conley’s visit to OCU where he also spoke.  Click HERE and you’ll be redirected to that article in a new tab.

Our Young People are very busy – in and outside of our own congregation.  The focus of our youth ministry is simple: to help our kids to develop a self-sustained faith in God through Evangelism, Service, Bible Study and Fellowship.  With the leadership of our shepherds, our families, bible class teachers, and youth minister all work together to help our children and teens come to a knowledge of what it means to “please God” (Hebrews 11:6).

Our elders, youth deacons, parents, adults and youth minister all serve together in the ministry of our young people at West Main.

pdfWaiver & Consent Form – Print it off and fill it out.  Be sure you extend the “effective date” through to your child’s 18th birthday.  Do this once and we’ll keep in the office to have it on file through your child’s growing years.
