“If indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.” Colossians 1:23
Doug was born on Labor Day, 1954 (evidently his mother misunderstood the holiday) and preached his first sermon in 1965. Currently Doug is in his 38th year of fulltime preaching. He attended Crowley’s Ridge Academy and College, Christian schools in Paragould, Arkansas. Doug graduated from Harding University and holds Masters Degrees in Education, Bible and Counseling.
He preached in Ocean Springs, MS from 1977-82 and for 21½ years served as the minister of the Booneville, MS church, before moving to West Main in May, 2004. His wife Vickie retired from the Northeast Mississippi Community College faculty in 2010. Doug and Vickie enjoy six children and 6 grandchildren.
“The West Main church of Christ invites you to become part of this vibrant and growing congregation. Our theme for 2015 is “Revive Us Again” and all year long we’ll be encouraging “Revival of Self”, “Revival in the Family”, “Revival in the Church” and “Revival for Lost Souls”. A warm welcome awaits one and all.”
